At The Study Inc. we help you become the best version of yourself and craft an application that demonstrates your unique abilities and accomplishments in a manner that is memorable, captivating and fun. With us there is never a dull moment as we collaborate to bring you to the college of your dreams.
We guide families through an educational system that is far more competitive and demanding than in previous generations. Meanwhile, we help emerging young adults better understand themselves, as they explore fundamental questions about how they connect with the world.
With years of experience in college counseling, mentoring, student profile building, and essay writing, I have assisted countless students and their families through an application process that has become increasingly complex, competitive and costly. When you work with The Study Inc, all this experience is brought to bear to make your child’s educational needs and aspirations a reality
The premier universities use interviews as an integral part of their application process. Typically interviews can be in person or on Skype. They are conducted by alumni and can last from 45 minutes to an hour. The questions are aimed at getting to know you, your thought process and whether or not you will be an asset to the university, bring a sharp intellect and maturity to the class and resonate with the value system.
Cracking that interview can be a veritable challenge in the face of little or no information on what to expect, especially when each university is distinctly different. We help you prepare for the interview taking into consideration your area of interest and your personality, in a manner that it becomes an extension of your application. We make suggestions, offer insights and inputs so you can face the interview with ease and confidence responding to questions with a clear understanding of your strengths. Each student is different so there is no set format, our expertise comes from getting to know you through the application process and leveraging that information to your advantage.
We also, assist with interviews for the Visa office for students who have concerns about it.

Finding a voice that is uniquely yours becomes extremely challenging as universities look for talent that stands out. I work with you and your family to find that expression as I help you to respond to questions that provoke you to discover your innate genius, such that your application becomes a reflection of it.
Over my many years as a counselor I’ve become particularly attuned to the anxieties, doubts and dreams surrounding the college application process. I understand exactly what’s at stake with myriad options to consider, increasing competition among candidates, ever increasing college fees and the immense doubt and confusion that you and your family must invariably contend with during the application process – It’s no wonder that the application process has become a rite of passage into adulthood.
My job is to make that rite of passage a whole lot more fun and collaborative than it sounds, and I take great pride in injecting playfulness, joy and creativity into the process and into the my minds of my students.
Having found your hook, writing the application essays become easy and enjoyable. I work with you to find your most authentic voice and guide you to express it through a captivating narrative. Finally, we brainstorm and I assist in editing to find economy of expression, the appropriate word, and the logical thought towards presenting a comprehensive picture of your experiences, learnings, and insights.
I aim to help you build a profile that is a holistic representation of your talents and one that stays true to who you are and what you’ve accomplished. I proffer inputs to strengthen every facet of your profile – academic, social and extracurricular and deliver developmental support to foster a plethora of student initiatives.
I routinely suggest projects to endorse talent, including social/community driven initiatives, entrepreneurial or product driven campaigns, pertinent internships and school extracurricular activities. I also encourage my students to embrace the idea that growth lies in the burn so that they may do the scary or uncomfortable thing, whether that be signing up to debate, giving a presentation, running a marathon or learning a new skill.
It isn’t just about presenting a neat, rounded and targeted profile that ticks all the boxes, my fundamental endeavour is to encourage my students to build strength of character while experiencing new things and having fun so that their profiles are true reflections of their best selves.
The international higher education process is complex and challenging. It is pretty commonplace to feel to like you’re drowning in an ocean of possibilities with no clear course ahead. I help you navigate the waters of the higher education admissions process for the top international universities and do my best to ensure that you reach your chosen land of opportunity, eager and satisfied.
My mentoring sessions are engineered to getting to know my students, their aspirations and apprehensions and guiding them through the quagmire of applications. I hand hold for as long as I must until my students’ gets a good hold on what they want to pursue. No questions are taboo, in fact, quite the contrary I make it a point to ask the tough questions while gently nudging them to discover their talents and passions. I nurture every meaningful and pragmatic aspiration my students are inspired to have and provide them with the wherewithal and guidance to follow through on them.

She made suggestions and left the decision making to me. "It is about making informed choices and taking responsibilty", she said. She was supportive, and you could speak to her about anything that bothered you. The sessions with her were about getting an education and not just an academic qualification, so she suggested reading material and asked you to investigate thoughts and ideas and stay inspired. Conversations with her were always thought provoking. She was interested in you and your journey. Without her guidance I wouldn’t have made it till here, especially with my boarding school timings. She was always there.

"Poonam has been instrumental in my personal and academic development over the past six years. When I first met her as a 7th grader, I was eager to pursue a career in fashion merchandising. Fast forward to today, and I am now an adult preparing to attend UCL to study History, Politics, and Economics.
Poonam played a pivotal role in guiding me through this transformative journey, helping me understand my motivations, reflect on my passions, and recognize the underlying sources of my aspirations. In 9th grade, I made the decision to move on from my former boarding school, Woodstock, and apply to UWC. From the very beginning of this process, Poonam was there to support me. She helped me identify and embark on extracurricular projects, shaped my essays, and prepared me for interviews. Thanks to her unwavering dedication, I was accepted into my top-choice UWC, UWC Atlantic in Wales. When it came time to apply to colleges, Poonam continued to be an invaluable resource. She regularly recommended universities that aligned with my interests and career goals and guided me seamlessly through the rigorous essay-writing process, making it feel manageable and achievable. As a result of her support, I was accepted into seven of the twelve schools I applied to in both the US and the UK, receiving over $40,000 in annual merit scholarships from institutions like Case Western Reserve. Poonam’s guidance extended beyond just preparing for school and university applications. She also assisted me with understanding complex assignments all while also helping shape my intellectual growth through thoughtful recommendations of books, TV shows, and authors. Whenever I faced a problem—whether academic or personal—I felt I could always turn to her for comfort and advice. Her support has truly been a cornerstone of my development, and I am truly grateful for her guidance."
