The premier universities use interviews as an integral part of their application process. Typically interviews can be in person or on Skype. They are conducted by alumni and can last from 45 minutes to an hour. The questions are aimed at getting to know you, your thought process and whether or not you will be an asset to the university, bring a sharp intellect and maturity to the class and resonate with the value system.
Cracking that interview can be a veritable challenge in the face of little or no information on what to expect, especially when each university is distinctly different. We help you prepare for the interview taking into consideration your area of interest and your personality, in a manner that it becomes an extension of your application. We make suggestions, offer insights and inputs so you can face the interview with ease and confidence responding to questions with a clear understanding of your strengths. Each student is different so there is no set format, our expertise comes from getting to know you through the application process and leveraging that information to your advantage.

I work with you and your family to find that expression as I help you to respond to questions that provoke you to discover your innate genius, such that your application becomes a reflection of it.
Over my many years as a counselor I’ve become particularly attuned to the anxieties, doubts and dreams surrounding the college application process. I understand exactly what’s at stake with myriad options to consider, increasing competition among candidates, ever increasing college fees and the immense doubt and confusion that you and your family must invariably contend with during the application process – It’s no wonder that the application process has become a rite of passage into adulthood.
My job is to make that rite of passage a whole lot more fun and collaborative than it sounds, and I take great pride in injecting playfulness, joy and creativity into the process and into the my minds of my students.

Finally, we brainstorm and I assist in editing to find economy of expression, the appropriate word, and the logical thought towards presenting a comprehensive picture of your experiences, learnings, and insights.

I also encourage my students to embrace the idea that growth lies in the burn so that they may do the scary or uncomfortable thing, whether that be signing up to debate, giving a presentation, running a marathon or learning a new skill.

I help you navigate the waters of the higher education admissions process for the top international universities and do my best to ensure that you reach your chosen land of opportunity, eager and satisfied.
My mentoring sessions are engineered to getting to know my students, their aspirations and apprehensions and guiding them through the quagmire of applications. I hand hold for as long as I must until my students’ gets a good hold on what they want to pursue. No questions are taboo, in fact, quite the contrary I make it a point to ask the tough questions while gently nudging them to discover their talents and passions. I nurture every meaningful and pragmatic aspiration my students are inspired to have and provide them with the wherewithal and guidance to follow through on them.

"I was directionless, reclusive, didn’t care about the “good-for-nothing” tag and had crawled into an abyss of nothingness. I loved Poonam instantly. She has great ways to connect with you through her spontaneous warm demeanour. I discussed different interests I wished to explore, from nutrition and wellness to interior designer and business consulting and entrepreneurship. We discussed each direction and finally weaved our way to entrepreneurship. It was amazing how simple she made it seem and within three short sessions she helped me recognize my true calling and passion.
Once I had finalized what I wanted to study we applied to ten schools: three dream schools ; three reach schools and four safe schools. The best part of my journey with her was the crystal clear mapping of where I wished to study.
I got into Baylor in Waco, Texas ranked fourth in enterpreunership and Temple in Philadelphia which was seventh. Since I finished my high school in a small town in Indiana I wanted to be in a vibrant college campus setting with diversity to be able to absorb and learn from the exposure. At each step Poonam was my guiding light as I juggled through the process which was quite intimidating for both me and my parents.

“Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?” It was while reading the Common App prompts that I thought I had to choose some other prompt. I was still to experience something that would've translated to deep implications for me. However, after my experiences with Poonam ma’am, not only was I convinced about the offers I would receive, I was convinced that I had something worth writing in that prompt. As students, we never bother ourselves with the deeper questions about our individuality or personality. We end up attaching greater importance to grades and numbers. "Poonam has been instrumental in my personal and academic development over the past six years. When I first met her as a 7th grader, I was eager to pursue a career in fashion merchandising. Fast forward to today, and I am now an adult preparing to attend UCL to study History, Politics, and Economics.
Poonam played a pivotal role in guiding me through this transformative journey, helping me understand my motivations, reflect on my passions, and recognize the underlying sources of my aspirations. In 9th grade, I made the decision to move on from my former boarding school, Woodstock, and apply to UWC. From the very beginning of this process, Poonam was there to support me.
